beautifully engraved 50 mark - 1919 a new Germany?
The note we are talking about is a 1919 50 Mark bill, the first such bill issued after Germany's defeat in WW1. It is beautifully engraved in the art nouveau/early art deco manner in green and yellow with bluish purple seals on buff paper. The young German Frauelein (lass) at the right represents a new beginning for Germany and the Weimar Republic, she seems very innocent…
