Most of today's battery technology is geared up towards smaller batteries, the most popular size being AA's. This is to meet consumer demand - appliances are getting smaller and smaller and battery technology is advancing in leaps and bounds, making the old "boogie box" batteries almost obsolete! Chargers too are becoming smaller, and you will notice that the new high tech intelligent chargers are devoted only to AAs and AAAs.
So, you may have, or be thinking of buying, say, the latest charger with 4 x AA mAh batteries or some of the latest 2500mAh AAs and you may have most of your modern gadget appliances such as the Walkman,MP3, MP4 and digital camera running on these batteries.
