Becoming a Verified member of Sella

Here at sella.co.nz we take your online security and privacy seriously. Right from the start we are introducing new features to help you trust others, and others trust you.

To help make sella a trusted place, we have introduced the concept of being a Verified member.  Verified members icons next to their username, indicating which of the following 3 verifications they have.

You do not need to have all 3 verifications completed before you can bid, buy and sell on the site, but it will give other users that extra confidence in you.

Credit card verification

Verifying by credit card is the fastest method.

Simply by crediting your sella account with 99 cents you become verified. And the best part is that the 99c can be used to add enhancements to your listings. When you visit the sella verification section within your account, you'll see the option to verify by credit card using our secure payment system.

Mobile verification

Verifying your mobile phone is quick and easy.

When you visit the sella verification section within your account, you'll see the option to verify your mobile phone. A unique code is generated and you should send this from your phone in a TXT message to 5838.

Text messages cost 99 cents each, and don't credit your account. sella will match this code to the mobile number you provided, and verify your mobile phone.

If you change your mobile phone number, you will be asked to complete this verification process again.

Address verification

When you supply sella.co.nz with your main address we will ask you to confirm this is your postal address.

Click on the Verify link in the address section of the verification page of your account, confirm your address and our team will dispatch a letter to you.

When the letter arrives, simply go to your address verification and enter the unique code from the letter. This will confirm you can receive post at the address you have supplied.

If your address changes you must notify us immediately.

What can I do once I am verified?

As a verified member of sella you can

• Purchase items using 'buy now'
• Place bids on as many auctions as you choose
• Use the question and answer feature
• List multiple items for auction
