Browsing & Buying
Browsing
We've made it very easy to find what you need on sella. All listings are placed in categories that are easy to understand and use.
We've created a search system so that all you need to do is type in what you are after and we will return the results.
Most people prefer to search for items visually, after all this is how you browse in a store. By default we have the gallery view which allows you to easily see the listings.
Once you have found something you like you can add this to your watchlist. Your watchlist lives in MySella. You can set up email reminders to be alerted 1,12,24 & 48 hours before the auction closes.
Buying
Buying an item on sella is simple. If its a general item, it is generally an auction. If its a Car, Property or Job it is a classified.
The major differences between the 2 (auction or classified) is that a classifed is for a set price & people can contact you directly.
For an auction it all happens within sella.co.nz. Buyers place bids based on how much they wish to pay. Others can bid but if yours is the highest bid and it's over the reserve price, at the end of the auction it's yours.
If you happen to bid accidentally, you can ask the seller to remove your bid.
You can auto-bid, meaning you can set your maximum bid and this allows you to automatically place smaller bids to keep you in the lead.
When the auction closes, if you are the highest bidder and the price is over the sellers reserve and email will be sent to both buyer and seller informing them of the sale and what to do next.
