Placing bids & autobids
Bidding on an item is easy, however you must be a registered sella member before you can place a bid on any item.
We recommend you review the item carefully, making note of any comments the seller may have in regards to the condition of the item. If you need clarification before bidding there is a question and answer area below the listing for you to contact the seller.
When you are ready to bid, enter your bid amount and hit the "bid" button. Your bid needs to be higher than the current bid to be valid.
If it's valid we'll show you a confirmation screen, asking you to double check your bid. Just confirm it to place the bid on the item. When the bidding closes, should your bid be the highest, and the item has met its reserve price you will be the winner.
If you accidentally bid too much you can ask to have your bid removed.
Auto bids
sella provides a tool to help you bid on an item. Instead of you needing to manually place bids, you can place an auto-bid. You tell us the maximum you are willing to pay, and the tool will place automatic minimum allowable bids up to that amount to keep you in the lead.
Auto extend
All auctions on sella will automatically auto extend by two minutes if a bid is placed within the last two minutes of an auction. Auctions will continue to auto extend until there are no bids for a period of two minutes.
To make sure you are not outbid at the last moment we recommend that you use auto-bid, and login and regularly check and refresh the listing when it is due to close.
What if I'm outbid?
Don't worry, we send out alerts if you are outbid giving you a chance to come back and increase your bid or auto-bid. We also send out a reminder email when the bidding period is about to close.
You can set these alerts in your email section of My Sella.
