In retrospect, I wouldn't recommend this kit. Although it seemed like great value, it turns out you can't buy cheap cymbals, so once you cymbals it is more expensive than some complete starter kits. I should have done more research on cymbal prices before jumping at what looked like a great deal. But that's my mistake not the company. What was a problem was that my kit came with no instructions (when I questioned this they stated that's usual. I think Lenker music should make this point on the sales info and/or recommend a good source of assembly instructions). On enquiry, they provided some youtube videos but the ones I found independently were better for a complete newbie. It also came without the key tool required to put it together. Lenker music are going to courier me one and it will arrive in 2 days time. I do understand this was probably an uncommon happening, but it added to my sense of being underwhelmed by this shopping experience. I would recommend buying locally where you can (a) confirm you have everything you need and (b) quickly sort out any problems.

Lenker Music's response: Thanks for your feedback, but there are a few of things I need to point out. 1/ Your point about the cymbals. Sure you maybe able to pick up dustbin lids for cheaper from a music shop but that is about what they will be. The cymbals we sell are very high quality Pulse brand cymbals that compare very well to some of the semi pro brands being sold in music stores for a lot more money. We could give you some dustbin lids too but I like to think that we have a bit more integrity than that. 2/ Every drum kit that I have ever sold has never had an instruction manual with it, and yes this includes top of the range Pearl, Mapex, Yamaha, Premier & Gretsch kits that I used to sell when I worked in music retail. We are however working on that and should have a solution available soon. 3/ Regrettably the drum key was missing from the box and i have certainly done my best to get it to you ASAP. I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that this has caused. By all means check out your options locally but I would suggest that if you are comparing apples with apples we would still be better priced than your average music store.

it was quite an unexpected surprise having goods that i had ordered the day before delivered the very next day and through the xmas period as well.
